Contents page progress 5

I've started editing the coverlines to no longer be placeholders and better show the layout. I took inspiration of the style and actual content from the Vogue magazines

I need to make photos on the contents page bigger. I'm not a fan of the photo on the top because it's too small to see the person and the quality is bad when zoomed in. I will definitely change it for something else. I may also add more photos since lots of people are doing one whole half of their contents as one image. It's kind of hard to go off of Vogue because their contents isn't a double page now but I'm trying to translate it other nonetheless. I'll likely check out vanity fair and glamour contents pages to see what they do.

Website progress 5

I added a slideshow today to add an interactive element and showcase more photos. The rest are screenshots of what the website looks like as a whole as of right now. Lots still needs to be done

Website progress 3

I've continued work on my website now and progress is still a bit slow as I'm still familiarising myself with wix. I've found out how to do something new- linking secret page so that the viewer can be redirected to something without going to a new visible page or new tab. This is really helpful because now I can link lots of articles and pages under one page so the menu remains nice and clean but I can still add lots to the website. I'm thinking of a gallery page to add the rest of my photos too for fans to see. I'm also going back and forth on whether to add my video clip on the home page or the about page.

Contents page progress 4

These are the two contents page so far. I'm going to leave them for now and work on my website. I still think there is edits to be done- especially with the second contents page because I just don't think it looks as good as the first. For example, the placeholder text will be edited and will copy the format of a Vogue contents page. I may also tweak the layout. Since last time, I've added stories over the main images. Also, I've changed the main body font to be sans serif as I think it's better on the eye. In both, a cover look section is added. This is because Vogue had it in the contents page so viewers could see the raw front image without the coverlines- I thought this was a nice inclusion, ties the contents in with the front page and also fills up empty space. Ive included page numbers at the bottom, and also in the bottom right 'xedition/volumexLUEUR.com' with the x being the number of the edition. since this is a new magazine, the numbers are 1 and 2. This allows me to make a reference to the website. I may also include references to social media within the editor's letter to add digital convergence.

Contents page progress 4 + new mock up

this is my new mock up for the second edition as I prefer this pose and its also more visually different to my first edition shot type wise. I changed the masthead to be darker too which helps draw the attention to it instead of to the coverlines. I also changed the composition slightly. I will likely keep editing the layout as I go along.

I also changed the placeholder text to be sans serif for this one because I think it looks better.

This is my progress so far for the contents page of the second edition. I'm switching up the layout so its not two similar but largely keeping the content and layout of the masthead and date and things the same. I've given both contents a slight hint of colour which go along
with the respective front cover and is also nice for a younger 16 year old girl audience as it adds some colour.

contents page progress 2

Again, I'm roughly following the layout of a vogue double spread contents page so I can get dimensions, proportions and sizing right. I've also used it as inspiration of what to include on the contents page. For example, it includes the cover look photo (without the additional text) and a little caption underneath which I thought was nice to include and in keeping with vogue. I've used the exact colours from my 1st edition (the reds and greens) to keep some consistency. I've also included the masthead as shown at the top left, a call to action 'subscribe to lueur', and a reference to the website 'lueur.com' in the bottom right corner. I have deviated slightly from the vogue layout just to accommodate what works best for me- but only slightly.

contents page progress 1

I've overlayed a Vogue contents page with what will be my contents page so it has the same proportions and will also remind me what style I'm going for.
